wArrier or wOrrier?

“I could relive every moment of that day even now.” Please read the statement again if desired. Do you find this statement applicable to you?  If so, how frequently? The memories of life occasions and many incidents through life ought to stay profound to be cherished forever. Isn’t it? Let’s test how well you could cherish the ‘memories of life’ right now. Commit here to recall with all your senses, any one occasion of your life that you could cherish. Take a minute or two if you want and let me hold on…

Hope you have recalled a day to be cherished by now… If so, you’re sure to have an upward curve on your face by now and I’m really glad to have invited that curve on your lovely face, the “smile”. Hope you agree with me on the potential of memories in bringing about instant changes within you.

“Life” is a wonderful journey of aspirations, desires, fears, responsibilities, commitments, successes, failures, trials and so on. Little do we keep in mind that each and every stage of life has its own priorities vested on us, which some of us enjoy a while, struggle through, stride across, get struck, juggle past and at times give up. Life is after all dynamic, for it may be monotonous and boring otherwise. Beauty of life lies in its capacity to make us look back at the memories. It’s your personality, attitude and most importantly your coping skills that can allow you to cherish or perish those memories.

Life of a person is adorned by one self, family, friends, teachers, peer group, neighbourhood and the society at large. Every person is vested with boundless potential to transact every situation, whether joyous, sweet, cool, challenging, disheartening, horrible, rubbish, etc. If so, why is that we could see an imaginary line of classification among individuals as ‘warriors’ and ‘worriers’?

The ability to cherish the best moments of life when you have to shove yourself through turbulences is the key that puts you in one of the above categories. Believe me, cherishing the best moments of life is a psychologically proven tool to facilitate a lot of desirable chemical exchanges within you to enable shift of attitude towards life, refine your efforts to progress and help you to take responsibility of the situation with least damage to yourself by distress and become the ‘warrior’. Because you are probably prone to be a victim otherwise in such situations and turn to be ‘worrier’.

If you could relate, decorating your home’s walls with pictures of your best moments, life occasions, showcasing your honours and awards, letters of appreciation, epistles, etc., have been a practice that dates back to time immemorial. Only the technology and ways of showcasing have improvised yet the art of it hasn’t faded for years since it is the best way to implement the fantastic psychological utility behind “Cherishing memories of life” to give us a ray of hope at times of trauma and turbulence.

But this needs all your will. Because by nature we are made up in a way that we remember bad memories better than the good ones. Researches claim that this is due to evolutionary reasons and to equip humans to stay sensitized to face similar challenges better in future if any. So, you are obliged to take the help of your subconscious here, which you can do only if you could put in the willful effort of repetition. It’s free of cost, no tutors required. You just have to afford few minutes in isolation to relive the pleasant moments, though not all at the same time, one in each situation of turbulence. I vouch, you are sure to observe remarkable changes in your coping skills, positive frame of mind and willingness to create many more moments to cherish. Let’s get started with cherishing one incident per day! Happy memories & mind prosperity!
